Along with the piled up lockdown days, multiple portrayals of gardening or plantation has loaded up in the story of Instagram and Facebook as well. But is it merely a trend we are following or the awareness of its healthy outcome? The indoor plants are more than just a visual beauty that charms the interior designing of our houses or offices. It eliminates up to 80 per cent of indoor air toxins within 24 hours which are more hazardous than outer pollution. While it advances our concentration and productivity by up to 15 per cent, a minor research for efficient plants that already exist in the page of Breatheinforest won’t ruin our time. It provides delicate houseplants to assist in creating forestry aura inside your home itself.

Mr Vivek Sharma, the founder of Breatheinforest

Background

When it comes to air pollution, the pictorial trace of colossus industries, millions of vehicles emitting smokes or the regular chemical compounds consumed in farming and households easily emerges but it is very crucial to educate ourselves that indoor pollution is more toxic than open-air we usually discuss.

Peace lily; helps in cleansing the air

To the plant enthusiast since childhood, Mr Vivek Sharma, this was an additional facet that provoked him to initiate breatheinforest as a solution back in 2018. He shares, “Controlling air pollution is not an immediate process. While the handling of outdoor pollution demands united effort, controlling indoor air pollution lies on our hand. So, when I came across the study done by NASA which revealed indoor pollution being 90% more harmful, I went for air-purifying plants that not only freshens up the air but also excludes harmful toxins from our houses”.

Challenges

Breatheinforest had a promising opening for its unique concept and vision. He confesses, ” In the beginning, we used to visit our customers to show the visible effect of keeping plants. For that, we examine the place with the help of pollution metre that measures the initial and final pollution after placing indoor plants. This grasped the attention of people easily”. However, the market the company once reaped isn’t the same now. As per his observation, most of the similar companies elevated at present deliver different product from the actual image portrayed in their sites which imprints negative impression. This has caused in the unstabilized market these days.

But with the clients that recognize their product has been a strength to stand in a balanced loop.

In response to expanded lockdown periods and unknown end to COVID-19, he shares the difficulty in keeping up with the employees. Like any other companies, the pandemic has hardly hit in sales which eventually slowed down other aspects although the company has shifted to online alternative. Nevertheless, Mr.Sharma perceives entrepreneurship as an everyday challenge and this pandemic is a part of hardship every entrepreneur must battle regularly.

Unique point

‘Human lives their 93% of life indoor. The interior toxins create long term effects from respiratory problems to lung and heart diseases. We are prone to any such illnesses but infants are primarily affected. So, we are driven by our motive of neutralizing genuine air-purifying plants and make a healthy environment for every individual. I believe our strong purpose to bring greener Nepal as a whole is where we stand different”, says Mr.Sharma

Future plans

The company’s ultimate goal of expansion in 2020 was laid off by COVID-19 which lead to delay in things. To fill in the void of persistence like before, they are aiming at dynamic marketing by offering discounts and bonuses. Also, they will proceed with establishing 10 to 20 counters in 10/10 square feet space once everything turns normal.

Final words

Once you step on the entrepreneurial footing, steady schemes do not follow effective consequences. The market seldom remains similar. You need to come up with a new strategy for every new market. This is the most valuable lesson Mr Sharma learned throughout his journey and wants everyone to hear.
